me and my friend(2 ladys) have started fishing since last year. we got a bit of info from local fishermans and my father whom is a hudge deep see angler. We love fishing form the side both of us angle in richards bay harbour every weakend even in the week if we get time. wel this year we bought 4 of okuma reels, not very expensive ones as we thought that this is good inuff for us. in March we both have gone down to see if we could get something going (I mean catch a fish) on this day we had a huge bite on my friends rod, well we hooked the fish and it was on. we strugled for 15 min to get this one out while she was strugling on top with the rod to get this fish out I rand down the rocks up and down left and right, she had no trouble at all with the reel it handled this fish perfect. She got it close to the rocks so I could get a hand on this one. and got it out of the water. This was no ordanary fish it was called a barred rubber lip, and its a very rare spiecies this fish is supose to be in the deep sea and not the harbour, and is a coral reef fish. it came out to be a 5.5kg fish that we caught with a okuma reel. o yes this seems to be a new record.
